Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about LeoWetsuits wetsuits, designed in Biarritz and handmade in southern Japan.

Who is LeoWetsuits?

LeoWetsuits is a surf and freediving wetsuit brand based near Biarritz (Basque Country, France). Our wetsuits are designed in Biarritz then handmade in southern Japan, in a blend of limestone-based Yamamoto neoprene and Japanese Nationals neoprene. We sell men’s, women’s, freediving and made-to-measure wetsuits, as well as clothing and accessories.

Why Yamamoto neoprene?

This neoprene is denser than in standard wetsuits: a 3 mm is as warm as a 5 mm, while being lighter, faster drying, windproof and very stretchy.

  • 3.5 mm hooded wetsuit: water 6 to 12 °C.
  • 4 mm hooded wetsuit: water 5 to 10 °C, equivalent to a standard 6 mm.
  • 5 mm hooded wetsuit: water 3 to 8 °C, equivalent to a standard 7 mm.
